Springfield, IL – The World Drag Racing Alliance will conclude the 2023 season with the Sportsman Drag Racing Series World Championships on October 19-21, 2023 at Darlington Dragway the sanctioning body announced today.  The invitation only, free race entry event will feature WDRA track champions and qualified Bracket Finals Champions in head-to-head competition for their share of the $200,000 main event cash points fund.   
WDRA is working on additional racer bonuses including a “Free Five Friday” that will feature no entry fee, $5,000 to win races for all qualifiers on Friday night.  American Race Cars became the first company to support the program by sponsoring a $5,000 to win race for the Box class racers who are invited to the World Championship event.  
“We are beyond thrilled to have one of the top facilities in the country host our World Championship event” said WDRA’s Don Scott.  “Darlington Dragway is a showplace for marquee events and we are excited to add the WDRA Sportsman Drag Racing Series World Championships to that list in 2023.” More updates and information on the WDRA Sportsman Drag Racing Series will be released in the coming weeks and posted on www.racewdra.com and on the WDRA Facebook page.
