Member Track and Racer
Contingency Program

Springfield, IL – The World Drag Racing Alliance is proud to have Eastbound Dragway, located in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador join the WDRA member track family.

The 1/8th mile track is part of Eastbound International Speedway and Concert Park which encompasses 55 acres and features a NASCAR and INEX sanctioned 3/8th mile asphalt oval, a monster truck and motorcross course and a world class music and entertainment venue.

Eastbound Dragway opened in 2014 and the passion of Eastbound Park Director Mike James has been to get racing off the streets. The track’s “take it to the track” program has the involvement of the local police and each year the program gets bigger and more well known. Mike also visits local schools in his effort to raise awareness of the sport and gets his message in front of 10,000 students annually.

“I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Eastbound Dragway on multiple occasions and it’s a literal diamond in the rough,” said WDRA’s Jon O’Neal. “The people I met and the passion they have for our sport is second to none. Eastbound is 1,600 miles from New York City and being that far away separates them from being a part of the drag racing discussion but what they do there is just as important for growing our sport as any other track in our Alliance.”

“Eastbound International Dragway is excited to align with the all new World Drag Racing Association for the 2023 Season,” said Eastbound Director Mike James. “Jon O’Neal and his team bring a high level of expertise and great programs like no other.  We look forward to joining the WDRA family of tracks.”

Eastbound Dragway becomes the 41st member track of the six-month-old World Drag Racing Alliance and its 5th member track in Canada.
